[A] woman has died after being knocked down on the A590 near Backbarrow.
At approx 5pm on Wednesday 17 January police were called to a collision involving a Honda Civic, driven by a 68-year-old man and a 76-year-old female pedestrian.
Sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, her family have been informed and a police family liaison officer has been appointed.
The road was closed for five hours while officers examined the scene.
