[M]anufacturers in Cumbria are invited to an event which will help them to develop a plan to prepare their business for Brexit.

‘Preparing Your Manufacturing Business for Brexit’ will be held at the Environment Agency’s headquarters on Gillian Way in Penrith on Thursday 15 February 2018 from 10am-2pm.

The event will be delivered by the Cumbria Manufacturing Service, and will focus on offering Cumbria’s manufacturers an outline of what Brexit means for small and medium manufacturing firms, providing them with the tools to start preparing their businesses.

Maria Ramsdale (FW Capital)

Following a welcome and overview from Suzanne Caldwell, Deputy Chief Executive at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, Alan Reid, the Cumbria Manufacturing Service’s Advisor, will outline the implications of Brexit for British manufacturers. This will be followed a panel discussion on how to plan for Brexit involving all the event partners, including Jenny Little from the Rural Payments Agency, and Maria Ramsdale from investment firm FW Capital’s Penrith office, plus panellists from The Growth Company’s International Trade team.

Attendees will then take part in workshops to help them grasp the practical implications of Brexit and there will also be a chance for attendees to seek further specialised advice from the event’s speakers on the full range of manufacturing issues.

For full details and to register your interest in attending this event, please visit www.businessgrowthhub.com/brexit-penrith.

This event is part of a series of free workshops taking place across the North West in early 2018 in partnership with the local Growth Hubs. This event is delivered by the Cumbria Manufacturing Service in partnership with the Cumbria Business Growth Hub, the Rural Payments Agency and FW Capital. To find out more about the grant service and other regional events visit:  www.manufacturingnorthwest.com/events or contact the team on 0161 237 4196.
