[P]olice are investigating an assault that occurred in Brampton on New Year’s Day.
The incident occurred between 12.15am and 12.45am outside a property on Moatside.
A 45-year-old man was seriously assaulted by two men after attempting to separate a fight between one of those men and another person.
The victim of the assault was repeatedly punched and stamped on.
Two men, aged 63 and 31 respectively, were arrested on suspicion of assault GBH. The two men, both from Brampton, were released under investigation.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault.
