[T]he upcoming Lakes Hospitality Show looks set to be the biggest in its 43 year history, following a surge in interest from businesses wanting to exhibit.

The two-day show will be held at the J36 Rural Auction Centre on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 March 2018. Committed to re-investing profits back into the tourism industry, this year’s event is being run by the Lakes Hospitality Association (LHA) in conjunction with Cumbria Tourism for the first time.

Now, additional marquee space has been added to the main exhibition hall to increase the floor space by 30% and provide room for a record 112 stands spanning a wide range of hospitality businesses, including tourist attractions, food and drink suppliers and support services such as IT technology and catering equipment.

A programme of free workshops will run throughout the Lakes Hospitality Show, with specialist speakers covering everything from the impact of new data protection laws to hospitality skills shortages to social media, PR, and the latest on making the most of the Lake District’s World Heritage inscription.

James Tasker, a Director of the Lakes Hospitality Association, says, “It says a lot about the passion and resilence of the industry that the LHA Show continues to grow and develop more than 40 years on. It has a fantastic heritage, but crucially, the breadth of exhibitors continues to expand, which is essential for business-owners and decision-makers who want to make fresh connections and reach further into new and emerging markets. I’m also proud that all of the profits we make will be re-directed back into giving hospitality businesses the practical support they need to thrive in competitive times.”

Managing Director of Cumbria Tourism, Gill Haigh, adds, “The Lakes Hospitality Show already has a strong reputation for not only showcasing products and services, but also developing vital customer relationships. I’ve no doubt the event will be an invaluable opportunity for businesses across Cumbria’s £2.72billion visitor sector to see what’s on offer within the industry and to help stay ahead of current trends.”
