[T]he family of Steven Parker, aged 23, of Wigton, who died on Saturday 3 February in a collision on the A596, between Carlisle Bridge and Station Road, have paid tribute to his life.
The collision involved a BMW 335D X Drive and a Vauxhall Corsa.
The driver of the BMW, Steven Parker, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two male passengers were taken to Carlisle Infirmary, one passenger was in a serious condition in intensive care, the other suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a 25-year-old man, from Wigton was unhurt, as were his two passengers.
Steven Parker’s family said: “Steven ‘Parker’ has been taken away from us too soon, he was the life and soul of the family with his cheeky smile and his witty character.
“He was the big man of the family who was always on hand whenever we needed him, he was only ever a phone call away.
“He has left behind a family who loved him more than words can say and no words can heal the pain we are feeling right now. He had a heart of gold and was loved by all his family and close friends.
“Our world has been turned upside down and torn apart. We ask that people please give us our privacy at this moment in time, so we can grieve and come to terms with our huge loss.”
