[T]he North West office of award-winning housebuilder, Story Homes, has committed to supporting charities and community groups which applied for funding in the third quarter of its ‘Future Story’ scheme.

This is a company-wide programme designed to support sponsorship or donation requests from charities and community organisations that surround Story Homes’ developments in Cumbria, south Scotland, the North East and the North West.

The housebuilder accepts applications via its website all year round, with a regional committee reviewing submissions on a quarterly basis. 45 organisations have so far been supported in total this financial year.

Storeys of Lancaster FC, Kendal Hockey Club, Levens CE School, Wattsfield Youth Football Club, Clitheroe Pendle Primary School, Derian House Children’s Hopsice, Lancaster Lonsdale Archers and St John’s Hospice in Lancaster have all been selected to receive a financial contribution.

Projects that Story Homes are supporting include supporting the Hospice at Home team which is a dedicated team of healthcare professionals from St John’s Hospice in Lancaster who visit patients in the comfort of their own home to offer palliative care at the end of life; supporting local football and hockey teams across the North West and South Cumbria and to provide kit and equipment for Lonsdale Archers.

Story Homes’ Land and Planning Director North West – David O’Reilly – commented: “We’re proud to say that our business is committed to being a ‘good neighbour’ and this includes supporting communities in ways that add long term value. Story Homes endeavours to provide help and support for charities and organisations that benefit local people and have a positive impact in the region. We’re thrilled to be supporting another nine organisations this quarter and we look forward to hearing about the progress of the projects.”

Story Homes is now inviting charities and community groups to apply for support in the next quarter. Applications for sponsorship, donations or raffle prizes should be made by completing the form at storyhomes.co.uk/sustainable-story.
