[P]olice are investigating an incident which occurred on Thursday 15th March 2018 where at approximately 8.40pm a man has been allegedly assaulted by another man in the archway from Queen Street heading to Birley Court in Whitehaven.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The victim suffered facial injuries requiring medical treatment.
“A 40-year-old man was subsequently arrested and released under investigation as officers continue their enquiries.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the police referencing incident 255 of 15 March 2018.
