[E]gremont’s spooky Florence Mine will be whispering to the words of Edgar Allan Poe this Saturday night when touring theatre company Don’t Go Into The Cellar return with a brand new show based on the writings of the master of mystery and suspense.
A Pandemonium of Poe brings together some of Poe’s best-known tales along with lesser known stories into a theatrical experience. Be led by the sinister Dr Trevellyan as he leads you into the deepest recesses of the human psyche. Along the way you will encounter such stark terror as may shatter the senses! But will you emerge from the shadows alive… ? Edgar Allan Poe is the father of the detective story and his classic mysteries include The Raven, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, Ligeia and The Masque of the Red Death, amongst many others.
The company, famed for their atmospheric one-man shows and two-handers have previously wowed audiences at Flornce with their adaptations of Sherlock Holmes, Dracula’s Ghost, Dickens and Christmas Ghost Stories. This new show will be the first time it has been seen in Cumbria, and features Phil Jennings performs in a show scripted by Jonathan Goodwin, and directed by Gary Archer.
The company will return to Florence on 27 July with a family show for the first time – an adaptation of the Oscar Wilde spookiest The Canterville Ghost.
