[T]he Port of Barrow has recently introduced a “Hydrate to Feel Great” campaign to promote employee health and wellbeing, by helping them make healthier lifestyle choices.

As part of the initiative, each member of staff received a water bottle, compatible with filter water machines within the port estate. Colleagues were also given leaflets detailing the health benefits of drinking more water.

Reusable plastic water bottles were selected for the project, in line with ABP’s commitment to protecting the environment. Following its introduction, the campaign has received positive feedback from ABP employees who have embraced it with great enthusiasm.

This is just the latest out of a series of initiatives organised as part of ABP’s commitment to employee health. Other examples include ordering fresh fruit deliveries twice a week for

Barrow employees, and encouraging colleagues to take regular breaks from daily work on display screen equipment.
Carl Bevan, ABP Port Manager – North West Coast, said: “We hope that this latest health initiative shows our wider port community that we care deeply about the wellbeing of our employees.

“Ensuring that ABP is a great and safe place to work is also at the heart of our Beyond Zero safety campaign, which emphasises the importance of working collaboratively and looking out for each other in order to ensure that everyone goes home safely every day.”
