[A] MAN accused of using violence towards a mother and son is due to stand trial in front of a jury later this year.
Ben Wiggins, 28, faced three charges during a short hearing at Carlisle Crown Court today (TUES).
He denied one charge which alleges that he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm upon Matthew Pearson. Wiggins also denied both allegedly assaulting the complainant’s mother, Mrs Sarah Pearson, causing actual bodily harm; and allegedly damaging a BMW vehicle belonging to her son.
All three charges arise out of alleged incidents in Wigton on November 14 last year.
A timetable for the progress of the case was outlined, and Wiggins, of Brindlefield, Wigton, was told his trial is due to start at the crown court on June 11.
In the meantime he was granted bail by Judge James Adkin.
