[T]raybakes of Penrith are specially opening their doors on Thursday 19th July to raise vital funds and awareness for local charity, Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.
A special evening has been organised by Traybakes, Hospice at Home volunteers and food writer Belinda Hill, author of ‘At Home in Cumbria’ – which celebrates local produce and has been produced in aid of the charity – to offer a unique opportunity to view the bakery at Redhills, Penrith. The evening will also feature a cookery demonstration by Belinda, who will choose a recipe from her book to showcase on the evening.
The ‘At Home in Cumbria’ recipe book was written and produced by Belinda – a former palliative care nurse turned food writer and cookery school host – in recognition of Hospice at Home’s 20th Anniversary, which was celebrated in 2017.
Cath Coates, Fundraiser for Hospice at Home said “Sales of ‘At Home in Cumbria’ greatly exceeded initial expectations and a second print run was quickly required. There are now just limited quantities of the book left and this special evening at Traybakes is the ideal time to purchase a copy whilst in a wonderful culinary setting and watching an inspiring demonstration by Belinda – we’re sure she will have chosen a mouth-watering recipe to showcase!
This rare opportunity to visit the Traybakes bakery, the site where thousands of delicious products are created for the likes of Wimbledon, Waitrose and Cranstons, and the charity would like to thank the Traybakes Team for their generous support.”
Tickets are £5, which includes refreshments, a guided tour of the bakery, Belinda Hill’s cookery demonstration and a £5 voucher redeemable against the purchase of an ‘At Home in Cumbria’ recipe book on the evening. Please visit www.hospiceathome.co.uk or call 01768 210719 to purchase. Limited tickets are available for this special evening and must be bought in advance so please book early to avoid disappointment.
