[S]taff at a local business are celebrating after raising almost £600 in aid of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice by taking part in the charities Colour Run in May.
A team of staff from Pioneer Foodservice showered themselves in a rainbow of paint and thousands of bubbles as they completed the 5km course at Carlisle Racecourse on Sunday 13 May. Along with raising sponsorship money, the local business also sponsored one of the foam stations at the event.
Karen Graham, Marketing Manager at Pioneer Foodservice, said “We were very proud to be involved in and supporting the hospice’s Colour Run for the second year running. We are a local business and are passionate about playing our part in helping community causes, charities and events.
“The Colour Run is a fantastic event for Carlisle and it’s rewarding to see not only how much enjoyment it gives to the people taking part, but the boost it gives to the hospice so they can help those who need its vital services.
“Our staff thoroughly enjoyed taking part and are very proud that they were able to beat last year’s fundraising total!”
This year was the second year Pioneer Foodservice have supported the Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Colour Run after sponsoring part of a paint station in 2017, along with entering a team of fundraisers into the event. In total the kindness and generosity of Pioneer fundraisers in 2017 and 2018 has helped to raise a total of £1,262!
