Plans to convert a former West Cumbrian electrical supplies shop into a warehouse unit have been revealed.
Michael Cleeland has applied for the change of use for the Lakes Electrical Supplies building on Station Road from retail and wants to install bollards in the car park.
It would be used to store carpets and furniture for the Leslie Cleeland store on Main Street.
The application has been lodged with Cumberland Council and includes the installation of 10 removable locking security bollards, which can be finished in any colour, although they are proposed in bright yellow for high visibility.
The application said: “Positioned in front of the existing building, these bollards prevent unauthorised vehicle access while preserving pedestrian safety.
“The bollards are removable, enabling emergency and authorized vehicles to pass when unlocked.
“Pedestrian and wheelchair access is fully maintained, as the bollards are spaced to allow clear passage.”
