[C]arlisle Lake District Airport has announced that it has reopened for general aviation (GA) flights today.
People can now land light aircraft at Carlisle Lake District Airport and use the Café Stobart in the North Apron and the newly opened Borderlands Café in the South Apron.
Kate Willard, Head of Corporate Projects at Stobart Group, said: “We are delighted that general aviation (GA) aircraft can now return to Carlisle Lake District Airport. We also want to thank the GA community for their support and understanding over the last few months.
“We will be announcing further developments at the airport in the run-up to spring 2019 as we prepare for commercial passenger flights with our partner, Loganair.
“As a Cumbrian business, we know just how much this airport means to the people of this county, South Scotland and the wider North West region. We remain fully and wholeheartedly committed to working with all of our partners toward opening this airport to commercial passengers for the first time in over two decades.”
