L-R: Nigel Crebbins, Amy Fallows, Sophie Allinson & Rob Winder enjoy a preview of the new office in advance of the re-location.

[L]aw firm Burnetts is relocating its Eden Valley base to Gillan Way in Penrith, having out-grown its Cornmarket offices.

The new location will provide growing space for the 21- strong team of lawyers, HR consultants, planners and support staff who now work for Burnetts in Penrith. The move is a result of sustained growth in the five years since Burnetts first opened an office in the town in January 2013.

The Penrith re-location takes place on Thursday 30 August and follows Burnetts’ recent Head Office move in Carlisle. As with the new headquarters, the design and building works of the Penrith office have been managed by CBS Fit Out in Lancaster. The result is a contemporary and tasteful open-plan work-space with modern meeting rooms and a new telephone system underpinned by an investment in IT infrastructure. The highlight for visitors will be a 6 metre glass artwork featuring Penrith landmarks such as the castle, the beacon and the clock tower. There are also artworks depicting the firm’s core values: committed, grounded, accessible and expert.

Natalie Ruane

Partner Natalie Ruane lives and works in Penrith and was the driver behind the decision to open the firm’s first office in Penrith in 2013. She said, “I always knew we could provide a range of services that wasn’t available from anyone else and that Penrith and the Eden Valley presented a great opportunity for the firm, but when we first opened the office, it was me and one secretary. We very quickly grew and now we are offering our full range of legal expertise from lawyers based in the town. Our Penrith location has been fundamental to our expansion throughout central and south Cumbria and has been a boost to specialists like our Education team who work predominantly from Penrith.”

As well as giving Burnetts room to further expand, the new location brings improvements to IT and M6 connectivity, whilst remaining convenient for rail travel.

Natalie concluded, “Our new, fully accessible and modern offices, overlooking one of the main roads into the town, are a significant investment into Penrith, but we are confident we will continue to grow and thrive in our new location and look forward to welcoming clients to our new home.”

As testament to the firm’s growth in the Eden district, Burnetts is currently recruiting for a Conveyancing Team Leader as well as a Planning Consultant, having recently recruited three new members to its HR team. Further information is available at www.burnetts.co.uk/jobs.

Burnetts’ new address is Unit 6, Hobson Court, Gillan Way, Penrith. CA11 9GQ. The telephone number is unchanged at 01768 800855. For further information visit www.burnetts.co.uk/penrith.
