Brough man denies child sex assault allegations

A Brough man has appeared before Carlisle Magistrates Court and pleaded not-guilty to a total of seven allegations which include indecent assault, on a child aged 14 or under.

John Ashley Dobson, 64, gave his address as Croft Close, Brough.

There are four allegations of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, on dates between November 6, 1988 and November 5, 1991.

An allegation that the defendant caused a child under 13, to watch/look at an image of sexual activity, between December 1 and 31, 2016.

An assault allegation on a girl by touching and the touching was sexual, between June 1 and 30 June, 2016.

Alleged attempt to cause/incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, on June 24, 2017, all the allegations are listed on court papers as taking place in Brough, Kirkby Stephen.

After entering not – guilty pleas Dobson was told he will next appear a Carlisle Crown Court on October 22, he was granted conditional bail until then.
