Daniel Fox has joined the team at the elegant Signature Restaurant at 4-star Wordsworth Hotel & Spa in Grasmere, in the heart of the Lake District.
The quietly sophisticated Signature Restaurant is developing a reputation for its seasonal menus which have been awarded an AA rosette for culinary excellence. Set within the historic hotel, originally built as a shooting lodge by the Earl of Cadogan, the restaurant benefits from light and airy views to the picturesque Lakeland village.
Daniel Fox brings a wealth of experience gained most recently at the Waterhead Hotel in Ambleside. After studying Sports Development at University in Liverpool, it was his enjoyment of working in hospitality, whilst studying, that drew him to pursue a career in the sector.

We want our guests to be able to relax and embrace the tranquillity of Grasmere whilst enjoying the best Cumbrian produce and seasonal menus created by Head Chef Jade Smallman. We also offer exciting twists of the classics, for example our brand new Thai inspired afternoon tea is delicious and complements the newly launched Ytsara spa treatments.”
“There’s a lot of time indoors with this job, so on my days off I love getting outside, either doing football training, playing golf or going for walks with my wife and our dog. One of my favourite walks is up Wansfell, then down intro Troutbeck and then back round to Ambleside. We’re a bit spoilt for choice in the Lake District and I’m discovering new routes walking the dog, even though I’ve lived here for most of my life.”
The Signature Restaurant is open daily for lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals for guests and non-residents offering an À la carte and a special gourmet menu with wine pairings for special occasions.
