Members of the public are invited to join the fun and have conversations about their health and wellbeing at the Family Sunday Fun Day in Kendal!
Following the great success of over 500 people attending the first event in March, Kendal Integrated Care Community (ICC) team are inviting the public, health professionals and partner organisations to attend their second Family Sunday Fun Day.
This free event will take place on Sunday 4th November 2018 at Kendal Leisure Centre, from 10am until 3pm and will be packed with lots of fun-filled activities for all the family.
Dr Amy Lee, local GP in Kendal said: “Earlier this year the first Kendal Family Sunday Fun Day was a great success and was the perfect opportunity for people from our community to get together, have some fun and have conversations about their health and wellbeing. Again at this follow up event there will be something for everyone including sports, crafts, games and activities.
“We hope families will come along and enjoy spending time together and just have fun, whatever the weather.”
Along with having fun on the bouncy castle and in the ball pool, on the day families will have the opportunity to try out a variety of different sports such as cricket, rounders and table tennis. Additionally attendees can join in with arts and crafts activities and Samba drum workshops. There will also be a £5 family swim offer on during the day.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to have a health and wellbeing MOT which includes blood pressure checks and Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements. Health professionals will be on hand to offer health advice and answer any questions. Yoga demonstrations will also be taking place throughout the day.
Additionally, the leisure centre will be packed with stalls offering information on local health services and voluntary organisations.
