A MAN has been charged following a knifepoint robbery in Durham.
Angus Hollingsworth, 23, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and assaulting a police officer following the incident which happened on Wednesday (October 24).
A Durham Police spokesman said: “The suspect approached a man and woman who were walking on Laurel Avenue and armed with a knife, made threats of violence before demanding they hand over their property.
“The offender then made off but was found by police officers after matching a description given by the victim.
“Hollingsworth was remanded in custody and will appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court later today.”
