Cartmel Racecourse has announced a new collaboration with Rogan & Co, Simon Rogan’s Cartmel-based Michelin starred neighbourhood restaurant.

Rogan & Co at Cartmel Races will be launched as an exclusive new venue for the 2019 racing season. It will combine the culinary excellence of Rogan & Co with the first trackside hospitality offering at the Racecourse, taking the form of a stylish glass-fronted marquee and garden terrace overlooking the famous finishing straight.

Steve Cooper, Managing Director at Cartmel Racecourse said, “We’re hugely excited about bringing together the restaurant and the Racecourse through this new venture to create something really special here at Cartmel. We knew that we wanted to create an excellent dining experience with a truly unique setting. With Rogan & Co based just a stone’s throw from the Racecourse, it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

“We decided upon the trackside location opposite the Grandstand in order to make the most of the fantastic views down the finishing straight and we’ve incorporated a garden terrace to the front that will be perfect for cheering on the horses and soaking up our celebratory raceday atmosphere. The restaurant will even have a special, private entranceway across the track for our guests to access the marquee.

“We’re already looking forward to seeing the idea become a reality next summer when the stunning new marquee is constructed. Tickets for this special restaurant are now available to book online, along with all of our other tickets which have gone on sale this morning (1st November), which is earlier than ever before!”

Rogan & Co was awarded its first Michelin star in October, joining its highly acclaimed sister restaurant, L’Enclume which holds two Michelin stars. Based in the village of Cartmel, Rogan & Co offers a more casual dining experience than L’Enclume yet still retains the precision and creativity of Simon Rogan’s distinctive culinary style.

Rogan & Co at Cartmel Races will feature a beautiful, seasonal three-course menu of home-grown and locally sourced ingredients, many of which are grown by Simon’s team at ‘Our Farm,’ just a mile down the road from Cartmel. Guests will also be treated to a delicious, freshly baked Afternoon Tea during the racing.

Simon Rogan said “Rogan & Co has been an integral part of the village for ten years now and with the races right on our doorstep, this feels like a natural fit for us both. The Cartmel Races offers a real moment of celebration in the Northwest, and we’re really proud to be working with such a well-known event to offer something new and exciting. Our menu draws a lot of inspiration from The Lakes and we hope that our guests will recognise this. It’s been a great year for our team and we look forward to welcoming guests to join us for the 2019 season.”

From the start of the new racing season in May 2019, Rogan & Co at Cartmel Races is set to become the latest must-try dining experience in the village, adding to the extraordinary collection of epicurean eateries and artisan shops that can be found tucked within its tiny medieval footprint.

Cartmel Racecourse will host a series of nine jump racing fixtures during its summer season from May to August and tickets for these are now on sale online via www.cartmel-racecourse.co.uk
