600 students at the Penrith-based College will take part in a choice of 40 exciting workshops delivered by 40 external guests.

Students will have the opportunity to select themed workshops in Business & Enterprise, Teamwork, Communication, Social & Digital Media and many more on 20th November as part of our innovative and exciting programme to prepare students for the world of work.

At Newton Rigg, a key aim for students is that they will finish their courses ready to go in to their chosen industries, with a multitude of skills, knowledge and understanding.

The new Employability team at Newton Rigg have a focus in supporting students in work placements and developing skills alongside their studies. The programme for the day has been created for students of all ages and abilities.

One of the highlights of the day is an appearance from leading performance coach, educational innovator and youth advocate, Kevin Mincher.

After his football career was cut short due to a back injury, Kevin started presenting motivational seminars to teenagers when he was still a teenager. He founded Unstoppable Teen in 1997 with the mission of helping 1,000,000 young people experience a better quality of life. Since then, more than 300,000 students, parents and teachers, have completed his Unstoppable Teen courses, making them the most popular life coaching programmes for teenagers in Britain.

The CPD days are just one of the unique features of the study programmes at Newton Rigg College, a fantastic step to making students work ready learners.
