Billy Livesley

The family of a man who died after an attack in Abram have paid tribute to him.

Shortly after 9.35pm on Friday 28 December 2018, police were called by the ambulance service to reports that a man had been assaulted outside a house on Bickershaw Lane.

Officers attended and 21-year-old Billy Livesley from Platt Bridge was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. He sadly died from his injuries the following evening (Saturday 29 December 2018).

A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has since been released with no further action.

A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit attempted murder. He remains in custody for questioning.

A murder investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.

Paying tribute to Billy, his mother Sylvia said: “Billy was one in a million. Those responsible haven’t just killed my son, they have destroyed me and our entire family.

“We will always love him and he will always be my baby.

“Billy was loved by everyone who knew him. Especially his brothers, his girlfriend Leah and all of the family.

“His little brother Teddy, niece Ivy and nephew Bailey idolised him and we will all miss him so much.”
