Carlisle Crown Court

TWO women are due to be sentenced next month after they both admitted assaulting a man.

Angela Louise Rodgers, 38, and 46-year-old Lisa Gill appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (MON).

During a short hearing, Rodgers, of Egerton Court, Barrow, and Gill, of Wheatsheaf Apartments, Kirklands, Kendal, denied a charge alleging that they assaulted Andrew Hearn, causing him actual bodily harm.

But the women each pleaded guilty to an alternative charge of common assault against Mr Hearn.

Their offences are said by the prosecution to arise out of an incident at Gooseholme, Kendal, on June 22 last year.

It is said that Mr Hearn was injured, suffering cuts and bruises, after he was attacked following a dispute.

Judge James Adkin adjourned the case until February 1. Rodgers and Gill were granted bail ahead of their sentencing hearing. “I haven’t decided what the sentence will be,” said the judge. “I will see on February 1.”
