Simon Rees Commercial Director of H&H Reeds Printers, Richard Rankin CEO H&H Group, Andy Jackson Managing Director H&H Reeds Printers

H&H Reeds Printers, owned by H&H Group, has formally confirmed the acquisition of the business of Print Graphic Ltd, based in Carlisle, extending the print service offering now available to customers throughout the North of England and South West Scotland.

The acquisition brings together two of Cumbria’s leading and renowned print and graphic design companies, H&H Reeds Printers and Print Graphic Ltd, to establish a flagship business, and an all-encompassing service for their customers.

This is the latest development in an ongoing growth strategy for H&H Reeds Printers, which has seen a relocation of its signage business and significant investments in cutting-edge print machinery in recent years.

H&H Reeds Printers is the largest commercial printer in Cumbria. It specialises in quality solutions for print, display and signage, having recently taken on additional staff with the expansion of its signage section. The purchase of Print Graphic extends their offering to include a bespoke creative consultancy, producing branding and graphic solutions encompassing commercial print, signage, photography, websites and digital marketing.

The newly enlarged business is the first acquisition by recently appointed CEO of the H&H Group, Richard Rankin: “With over 140 years’ of print experience, H&H Reeds Printers has a deep understanding of this sector. It is fast-paced and highly competitive, and this acquisition gives us the opportunity to stay at the forefront of the industry and ensure we offer our customers the full range of products and services expected in today’s market. Both companies have solid foundations and first-class customer bases which we are expecting to grow by extending the services we can now offer into each respective business.”

With over 40 members of staff, H&H Reeds Printers prides itself as being one of the most environmentally friendly printers in the UK. Producing all types of print and signage solutions, from stationery to bespoke outdoor signage and from brochures to exhibition displays, the business continually strives to meet the needs of this ever-changing industry.

This acquisition is the natural next stage of the company’s evolution as Andy Jackson, Managing Director, explains: “The purchase of Print Graphic offers very good synergy with ourselves as quality printers. Print Graphic is highly respected within the region and adds value to our comprehensive portfolio by extending our expertise to cover those printing services we did not previously offer. This is an incredible opportunity for us to increase capacity and drive print, graphic designs and signage to the market place and for us to expand our business geographically.

“We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service, and this new development gives us a chance to offer customers a wider range of services, particularly creative graphic design, and from the offices in Carlisle. The team from Print Graphic are hugely talented and I know will be a tremendous asset to our existing team and I look forward to working with them.”

Print Graphic was established over 20 years ago, Simon Rees, the owner of Print Graphic, who now takes up the role of Commercial Director with H&H Reeds Printers, added: “This is an exciting opportunity for all of us, we have worked with Andy and the team from H&H Reeds on a number of projects recently and it is clear that our skills and knowledge complement each other.

“As a result of this merger, Susanne, myself and the design team will continue to operate from our existing location on Warwick Road in Carlisle. Our aim is to provide a centre of creativity, offering a complete range of print and design options covering, photography, branding, commercial print, signage, websites and complete marketing packages. In my new role, as Commercial Director, I’ll be able to dedicate more time to customer service ensuring that our clients are aware of the full range of services we now offer.”

The company will trade as H&H Reeds, Print & Graphic Solutions, maintaining and developing the services from both sites: Warwick Road, Carlisle, and Southend Road, Penrith.
