L-R: Dawn Stainer with Emma McAndry from University of Central Lancashire Mediation Panel.

An exciting new business, Lakeland Mediation Solutions, was launched on Thursday 21st March by mother of two, Dawn Stainer. More than 50 guests attended the launch, held at Kendal’s Pomegranate and Sage Cafe, with husband Simon playing classical cello music.

Lakeland Mediation Solutions, offers personalised, confidential mediation for resolving disputes in the Corporate and Educational sectors. The mediation process can save businesses and organisations both time and money; avoiding extensive legal costs. Dawn will provide local, Lake District based businesses with expert bespoke mediation where working relationships have broken down, and also in situations where businesses would like to see improved motivation and productivity.

Dawn originally studied BA (Hons) Law at Oxford Brookes University and subsequently moved into education, first gaining experience in the Primary sector, then further developing skills as a Lecturer in Law at Kendal College and as an associate lecturer at Post Graduate Level for the University of Central Lancashire.

Over the last fourteen months, Dawn has been continuing her professional development; becoming an accredited Mediator for Workplace and Civil and Commercial Mediation and is a registered member of the Civil Mediation Council. Dawn is also on the Civil and Commercial External Panel for the University of Central Lancashire, supporting their pro bono services and assisting in External Workplace disputes.

Partnering Promediate (Manchester Civil Mediation Pilot), Dawn will soon be travelling to Cyprus to work on the assessment of an International Civil and Commercial Mediation professional course.

In her spare time, Dawn is a volunteer with the Kendal Amateur Swimming club and has just been awarded her Level 1 British Swimming Judge and is a Level 1 coach.
