JOHN Woodcock MP will open his new office in Barrow town centre on Friday.
The independent MP is inviting constituents and friends to stop by for a chat at 80 Cavendish Street from 4pm to 6pm.
Mr Woodcock and his team left his former premises at 22 Hartington Street in Barrow last September following his decision to resign from the Labour party and sit as an independent MP.
For the past six months they have worked from temporary accommodation while improvements were carried out in their new headquarters.
Mr Woodcock said: “A lot of work has gone into transforming our new Barrow office and we are pleased to have secured premises so close to the centre of town. I would like to give a special thanks to local contractors who have worked so hard to get us here.
“It will be much easier for constituents needing advice to drop in and there is no need to make an appointment between the times we have advertised.
“Having an office virtually in the centre of town will also keep us more in touch with what is going on in the heart of Barrow. We have invited neighbouring businesses and we would welcome constituents stopping by.”
Anyone needing advice can call at Mr Woodcock’s Cavendish Street premises from 2pm until 4.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays or send an email to [email protected]
Friday’s event is contingent on Brexit votes in parliament.
Mr Woodcock’s Ulverston office is unaffected by the move and will continue to serve as his south Lakes base from 9.30am to 12.30pm on the same days.
