Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was arrested in the Kirkland area of Kendal this afternoon on suspicion of assault.
Officers were called shortly before 5pm following a report of a man in his 20s having been assaulted near to the play park.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Officers attended and arrested a man from the Barrow area, also in his 20s. He is currently in police custody.
“The victim of the assault has been taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with head injuries. The seriousness of those injuries are not yet known.
“There were a number of people in the area at the time and officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or the moments leading up to it.”
