Police are appealing for the public’s help after the body of a woman was found in Salford.
At around 2.15pm on Sunday 14 April 2019, police officers searching for missing woman, Karen Ellen Smith from Salford sadly discovered a body near to Merlin Road.
They have since been formally identified as 53-year-old Karen Ellen Smith.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding Karen’s death and have released CCTV of some of her last known movements.
Detective Sergeant Karl Dalton, of GM’s Salford district, said: “This is a tragic incident and there are a dedicated team of officers committed to finding out exactly what happened in the lead up to Karen’s death.
“We have released CCTV in the hope that someone in the local community may have seen Karen and can help us piece together Karen’s last movements.
“Aside from the CCTV which shows her in a local shop on Sunday 17 March 2019, we know that Karen was in the area on Monday 8 April 2019. Has anyone seen or heard from Karen since then? If you have, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
