A PRESTIGIOUS dining venue which welcomes hundreds of racegoers every year has had a major revamp ahead of the 2019 racing season.

Bosses at Cartmel Racecourse have invested a five-figure sum in the Louis Roederer restaurant to ensure it offers an unrivalled experience to guests.

Iconic images from the course and the world of racing will now adorn the walls, while a new colour scheme has been introduced.

Racecourse Director Steve Cooper said: “We have extended our corporate hospitality offerings this year to include the very exciting Rogan at the Races, which is a collaboration with the Michelin-Starred Rogan & Co in Cartmel village.

“There is a fantastic culinary experience awaiting guests who take advantage of this unique opportunity, and we expect to see plenty of Simon Rogan and Tom Barnes over the course of the season as they join their teams in preparing some mouth-watering food.

“We have also heavily invested in the Louis Roederer restaurant, which for many years has been a favourite with companies wanting to treat their staff and clients, or with people looking to treat themselves.

“I’m very pleased with the results. The new look is heavily influenced by national hunt racing and we hope will prove to be an inspiring environment in which our guests can enjoy a great day out.”

Located on the first floor of the Grandstand (within the Paddock enclosure), the Louis Roederer restaurant has its own private viewing balcony, boasts panoramic views of the racecourse, finishing line and parade ring,

There are nine meetings from May to August, with plenty of highlights in the calendar. For the first time in the course’s history, a Ladies Night meeting will be held on Wednesday May 29.

And on Friday June 28, one of the biggest names in global pop music will take to the stage when Sir Cliff Richard plays one of just three UK gigs at the racecourse.

The gates of the racecourse open for the first time as the Whit holiday meeting gets under way on Saturday May 25. There is a subsequent meeting on Whit bank holiday Monday, the 27th, and then Ladies Night rolls around on the evening of May 29.

Racecourse director, Steve Cooper, said: “Excitement is starting to build among the team as we put the final preparations in place for May.

“There is no better place to be on a fantastic spring or summer day than Cartmel Racecourse and we are really looking forward to welcoming customers old and new for what promises to be a fantastic season.”
