New retailer swims into Keswick

New retailer swims into Keswick

Popular clothing brand Weird Fish will open a new licensed store in Keswick high street on Saturday May 11.

The store, based in Main Street, will open its doors on Saturday and there will be an exclusive goodie bag offer worth over £50, available for the first 30 spending customers on the day.

New on the scene for Keswick, the Weird Fish licensed store is run by franchisees Adrian and Julie North, owners of the popular Cumbria-based family business Edge of the World. The new Weird Fish store replaces the previous location of Joules in the high street.

Adrian North commented: “We’re very excited to welcome the first few customers through the doors on Saturday. I speak on behalf of the whole team when I say we are very enthusiastic about the latest addition to the town.

“We’ve worked with the Weird Fish brand from its earliest days when one of the main lines was the artist T-shirts and therefore feel very confident opening this new store as we have a longstanding understanding of and interest in the brand. We know that the relaxed, casual style of Weird Fish is perfect for enjoying life in the Lake District.”

With a bright and contemporary design, created to feel like the outdoors is being brought indoors, there are elements of greenery splashed throughout. It’s the fifth store to open with the brand’s new store design format.

John Stockton, managing director at Weird Fish, said: “This is our first store to open in Cumbria and we couldn’t be more excited to have opened in Keswick. Adrian is very well known across the county; Edge of the World has been trading for 29 years and has six stores in Cumbria. Adrian has been a loyal stockist of ours for years so we have no doubt that this latest store will be exactly what the high street needs.

“Weird Fish is a great fit for Keswick, because like the Cumbrians, we love being out and about – our clothing reflects our love of the great outdoors. And with so many spectacular walks in the Lake District, Weird Fish is the perfect accompaniment – with its technical and thoughtful details, you’ll feel stylish as well as being protected from the elements when exploring the great outdoors.”
