Dr Fatima Ehsan and Vanessa Brown of VL Aesthetics

A Carlisle aesthetic clinic has recruited a doctor to its team to help expand into a new range of medical treatments.

Dr Fatima Ehsan has joined VL Aesthetics which this week unveiled the new medical facilities at its Kingmoor premises that will allow it to offer anti-ageing injections, facial treatments and minor surgery.

Owner Vanessa Brown has invested heavily in an expansion which has added a new medical clinic to the premises believes that the centre will now attract customers from a much wider area.

Vanessa. said: “This is the next step up for our business and means that VL will have all the latest anti-ageing and skincare technology under one roof. We have the equipment and treatments that people would previously travel to big cities like Manchester and London for. I’m so happy that the business is growing and that we now have a permanent doctor here to increase the variety of what we do.

“Introducing medical aesthetics led by Dr Ehsan means we can expand our menu of non-surgical treatments at what is the largest aesthetic clinic in Cumbria, offering the very best in facial rejuvenation and body contouring.”

Dr Ehsan has joined the business after 10 years of medical experience including teaching anatomy (specialising in facial anatomy), working in surgery and teaching surgery at a hospital in Lahore, Pakistan. She recently completed training in medical aesthetics at London’s Harley Academy.

She will be providing treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, facial fillers and micro needling. Soon she will be offering minor surgery for conditions such as skin tags and wart removal.

“It is rewarding to see people leaving here with more confidence and belief in themselves. Sometimes we can help with some more serious issues such as hair loss, a scar or chronic acne that can leave people worried about going out.

“With serious acne, for example, a GP might give you an antibiotic, but that is not a long term solution. We need to get rid of it totally and we have a five-week plan that involves treatment with micro-needling using a recovery serum,” she said.

Dr Ehsan, 34, is married to Dr M Naim Asghar who is completing his GP training at Carlisle’s Spencer Street surgery. Both are enjoying their time in Cumbria with Dr Ehsan saying the couple like to go fell walking in the beautiful Lake District and ending the day with some of the local ice cream which is so fresh’.
