This weekend leading tourist attraction Ullswater ‘Steamers’ partners with Lake District Foundation to host a fascinating talk by Dr Kate Rawles as part of their wildlife awareness week.
From bike to boat, Dr Kate Rawles shares her stories from her experiences and research into biodiversity and our global environment. The Wildlife Talks take place onboard sailings between Glenridding and Air force on Saturday 1 June at 11am and 11.30am, free to attend with cruise ticket.
Dr Kate Rawles, Adventure and Ecology Ambassador for the Lake District Foundation, said: “I’m passionate about using adventurous journeys to raise awareness and inspire action on our major environmental challenges. I’ve recently returned from The Life Cycle: Colombia to Cape Horn by bamboo bike, exploring biodiversity loss. I’m excited to share my story this Saturday about wildlife issues abroad and closer to home here in the Lake District National Park.”
If you are a budding photographer with a love of the outdoors and wildlife there’s also the opportunity to enter your photo into a competition via social media using the hashtag #visitgiveprotect For more information www.ullswater-steamers.co.uk/events/event.php?id=178
