Farmers are invited to attend the launch of a new project: “Sustaining Farming in the Westmorland Dales” which is part of the Westmorland Dales Landscape Partnership Scheme.
The event on Wednesday 3rd July, is being held at Raisgill Hall, Tebay, CA10 3UB courtesy of the Dunning family.
Starting at 1.30pm up at the livestock buildings, it will include:
- An introduction to the project by Farmer Network coordinator, Carol Moffat.
- Talks on how to reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance by vets Sophie Gibson from Tethera Vets and Richard Spooner from Pendragon. This will include the use of vaccinations and the importance of biosecurity in reducing the use of antibiotics.
- A tour around the Raisgill Hall cutting room with Dan Austin of Lake District Farmers who will explain about their supply chain and how they work with farmers.
- A farm tour including a chance to look around the newly installed dairy parlour.
The event is free of charge and is open to all farmers from the Westmorland Dales and surrounding areas. Light refreshments with tea and coffee will be provided at the end of the event at approximately 4pm.
