Salon Rouge, based in Penrith, is celebrating their 10th anniversary of being in business this weekend with an open day for the local community and customers.

Tanya Tinkler, 33, opened the business on Saturday 27th July 2009 by herself but has built up a core team of stylists and beauticians who now work for her.  The business has grown, clientele developed and the range of services they now provide is extensive.

During their time in business, the team at Salon Rouge have been passionate about being part of the local community, getting involved in local events and raising money for charity.  In total, the team has raised over £10,000 for various charitable causes such as The Great North Air Ambulance, BLISS, Penrith Christmas lights appeal, Lowther Endowed Primary School and for Kevin Lee, a local man who sadly passed away from contracting a brain tumour.

Tanya said: “I am so excited to be celebrating our tenth year in business this weekend and marking the fact we’ve raised so much money for local charities during this time.  Running your own business is a rollercoaster and I have learnt so much along the way, but I’ve taken the knock backs and tough times on the chin and it has made me and the business much stronger and we continue to grow.  We have some exciting plans going forward and the future looks bright.”

Tanya is enjoying a double celebration this weekend, as she has also recently been shortlisted in the Beauty category of the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAs).  The awards recognise women in business from across the North West in sixteen categories, ranging from best small business to the businesswoman of the year and are the largest awards celebrating women outside London.

Salon Rouge will be celebrating their ten-year anniversary this weekend with a special open day for customers from 2pm to 5pm and they welcome everyone along,

“This is our opportunity to say thank you to all our dedicated customers over the years and welcome new ones if they want to come and join the fun.  And the first 30 people through the door from 2pm will receive a very special goody bag.”
