Police are investigating a collision that occurred on the A591 Ambleside at 5:20pm, on Monday 29th July 2019.
The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf, and a Suzuki motorcycle both travelling towards Windermere.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “As a result of injuries sustained, the rider of the Motorcycle, a local 48-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene.
“The family have been informed, and are being supported by specially trained officers.
“At the time of the collision the road was busy with vehicles, and many pedestrians were in the area.”
