A man has been arrested after three people were injured after being attacked in Wigton.
Police were called to the incident at 1:50pm.
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to King Street at 1:52pm.
Two ambulances, an air ambulance and an advanced paramedic attended the scene.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A 49-year-old man has been arrested following an incident where three people were assaulted.
“A woman was injured on Church Street and two men were also injured on King Street.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
“Two bladed articles were located in the area of the assaults and have been seized as part of the investigation.
“Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
“One of the men injured has been taken to Preston Royal Hospital with injuries not believe to be life threatening.
“The other man has been taken to Blackpool Victoria hospital.
“The woman has been treated locally by NWAS.”
A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We can confirm we are treating three patients.”
