Members and staff at Bannatyne Health Clubs across the North West, have come together to help raise more than £40,000 for a cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better.

The clubs were one of 72 Bannatyne Health Clubs in England and Wales, which took part in Look Good Feel Better’s annual fundraising campaign, Feel Better Week.

In total, the Bannatyne Group raised £40,617 with club staff and members undertaking a range of fundraising initiatives including, spin-a-thons, cake sales and hair waxing.

The money raised during this year’s Feel Better Week means that the Bannatyne Group has now raised more than £260,000 since 2014 for Look Good Feel Better, which provides psychological and physical support for people undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. More importantly, it enables them to regain a sense of normality and helps them through some of the daily tasks we all take for granted – like picking up their children from school; facing a meeting at work or being in public without feeling people might be staring or feeling sorry for them.

Sally a Patient Beneficiary said: “Such a fantastic service. Thank you for making me feel like me and not just someone that’s been affected by cancer.”

Graham Hill, regional manager at the Bannatyne Group, who co-ordinated the fundraising, said: “As always, our members and staff embraced the fundraising and came up with some great initiatives.

“It’s a fantastic amount of money we raised and I’m proud that once again we can make a brilliant contribution to support Look Good Feel Better.”

Bannatyne Group operates health clubs in Blackpool, Crewe, Manchester (3), Skelmersdale and Carlisle.
