A renowned Cumbrian business will be celebrating its 20th year of business with a series of community based events.
During a full year of activities, The Lakes Homecentre in Cockermouth aims to give back to customers as a thank you for their business over the past two decades. The series of events will be launched on October 1st with a Find a Voucher treasure hunt in store, where a £20 voucher will be hidden among the products every day for 20 days.
Also on the agenda is the community project 20 Good Deeds – where staff members and associates will commit to doing 20 charitable deeds around Cockermouth and the wider area throughout the year. The events will be documented on the Lakes Homecentre Facebook page.
Ongoing Support
The business will also be adapting its online logo as a way of commemorating 20 years of business, with the help of local digital agency Wombat Creative.
Since first opening its doors in 1999, the homeware shop has featured a Garden Centre, Coffee House and large shop floor, selling luxury homeware, DIY and gift ranges.
General Manager of Lakes Homecentre, Gary Whetten, who has been at the helm since the business began, said: “We really can’t believe 20 years have passed since we first opened our doors! Back in the time of Nokia phones and perms, we started off as a local business hoping to do our bit to contribute to a thriving Cockermouth.
“The high street has suffered since then, but we are extremely grateful to the local community for their ongoing support. This why we’ve decided to give back this year with our community based events.”
More events to celebrate the Lake Homecentre’s 20th birthday will be announced on the Lakes Homecentre Facebook page throughout the year.
