A woman who suffered a serious head injury following an alleged assault in Keswick earlier this month has died.

Katrina Fletcher, 64, of St Kentigern Close was found at her home address with serious head injuries by North West Ambulance at around 11.15pm on Wednesday night (11 Sept).

She was taken to Cumberland Infirmary, where she had been since 11 September, but died this week.

The family of Katrina Fletcher have released the following tribute today: “We are heartbroken to share the news that our sister Katrina (Trina) Fletcher, 64, has passed away on the 24th September surrounded by her family.

“Trina was a loving sister, sister-in-law, auntie and friend to many in her home town of Keswick.

“We know she will be sadly missed by friends, neighbours and ex colleagues over the years.

“The family would appreciate privacy at this sad time.”

Patrick Webster, 62, of Kentigern Close, was arrested on the night of 11 September and was charged on 13 September with grievous bodily harm with intent. He appeared at West Allerdale Magistrates’ Court on 13 September and was remanded to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 14 October.

Webster remains on remand for grievous bodily harm with intent.

Cumbria Police will continue to consult and review this on-going investigation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
