A man has died after being injured in a serious road traffic collision on the A75 Gretna to Stranraer road at a junction leading to Arnmannoch, Shawhead.
The three vehicle collision happened around 3.45pm on Friday 25 October.
A grey Volkswagen Beetle was involved in a collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa and white Ford Transit van.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The 79 year-old driver of the Volkswagen Beetle, who was receiving treatment at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary since the crash, died on Sunday 27 October 2019.
“He has been named as Alexander O’Haire of Braco Farm, Shawhead, Dumfries.
“His relatives are aware.
“A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing. Sergeant Wayne Carnochan of the Road Policing Unit is re-appealing to any witnesses to the crash, or anyone driving on the road around the time of the crash who has dash-cam fitted to come forward.
