In November, businesswomen from all industries, large and small, will come together to mark Women’s Entrepreneurship Day at Pink Link’s business conference in Kendal.
WED is a day which empowers, supports and celebrates working women across the world as part of a series of events for Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The Pink Link Ladies WED event will combine networking, exhibitor stands and inspirational speakers. There will be plenty of opportunities for women to make new connections, generate leads and grow their business.
The conference will be opened by the High Sheriff of Cumbria, Marcia Reid-Fotheringham and will feature two leading entrepreneurs, Kate Stewart of Vitality Homes and Susanna Lawson of OneFile. They will be sharing their stories of what they’ve learnt and experienced. Both businesswomen were winners at the prestigious 2019 Enterprise Vision Awards.
Stewart hales from Liverpool and was written off as a single mum at 17. Determined to make changes, she used her entrepreneurial drive and skills to become a millionaire at 26. Stewart recently appeared on Channel 4’s The Secret Teacher where she helped students who were struggling with the educational system to become young entrepreneurs, showing them that with drive and determination, anything is possible.
Lawson started her OneFile from her spare bedroom. Onefile is an e-portfolio software that is used by hundreds of thousands of students across the world. She was awarded the #EVAS2019 Outstanding Achievement Award for her drive, innovation and determination to succeed. Employing over 80 staff with a multi-million pound turnover, she will talk about the ups – and downs – of being a businessowner.
