A man has been fined £80 by Allerdale Borough Council for failing to pick up after his dog in Workington.
Allerdale enforcement officers caught the man red-handed earlier this week on the grassed area near the Senhouse Street Working Men’s Club.
A spokesman for Allerdale BC said: “The man’s excuse for not cleaning up his dog’s mess was that he had no dog poo bags. As well as handing out the fixed penalty notice (FPN) the officer provided the man with a bag and asked him to clean up the mess.
“The council would like to remind members of the public that there is no excuse for not picking up after their dog and that if caught, they will be dealt with.”
