Eden butcher and maker Cranstons has raised over £3,500 for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland through the company’s annual Christmas fundraising drive.

The money was raised through Christmas shopping evenings at the Cumbrian Food Hall in Penrith and their food hall at Orton Grange near Carlisle and through donations from sales of Christmas puddings.

The generosity of Cranstons customers and suppliers is to be commended as both evenings raised £3,102 from entry tickets, donation buckets and the grand raffle with a further £377 raised from sales of Christmas puddings and £43 from collections tins in the shops.

Cranstons has been fundraising for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland for several years through the annual Christmas shopping evenings, donations from product sales and challenges such as 2019’s Dragon Bay Regatta, which saw a team race against other businesses on Windermere for chosen charities.

Martin Jones, Deputy Managing Director of Cranstons said: “Every year we are blown away by the support and generosity of our customers, our suppliers and the choirs – Zing! And the Crown Inn Singers – who come together to raise money for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.

“The events are always a great success and well enjoyed by everyone so we are pleased that they were able to raise so much money for a charity that has helped a lot of our colleagues’ families over the years.”

Samantha Davis, Fundraiser for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland said: “We would like to very much thank Cranstons for the Festive events and their Christmas pudding charity donation that were in support of the charity. The evenings were a great success and very much enjoyed by our volunteers.

“Cranstons and Hospice at Home have a longstanding relationship and we appreciate their dedicated support, along with the continued generosity of Cranstons customers. The money the Cranstons team have raised really will make such a difference to local patients their families and carers.”
