A rock tribute event was hailed a success after raising more than £1,200 for charity.
The event, which took place on Saturday 25th January in The Railway Club, Workington, was held to raise funds for both The Mayor of Workington and The Mayor of Allerdale’s charities.
The sold out event, featured Hammerhead, a top local band that has played at local and national venues across England. The headliner for the evening was the UK’s top Black Sabbath tribute show, Sabbra Cadabra.
Cllr Paul Scott, who helped organise the event, said ‘Both bands delivered a fantastic display of traditional rock music. It was a sold out event and a great success with both bands generating a fantastic atmosphere.
We would just like to thank everyone who purchased a ticket, without you people the night would not have been such a success. Other people we wish to thank are, CF Events for providing tickets and wristbands. The Railway Club, Workington, for hosting the night. Allan Hall for providing the sound and Derek Williamson for providing the lighting effects. Most of all, thanks to both bands for a fantastic show!’
The total money raised was £1,278.44 which will be split equally between The Mayor of Workington’s charities; Young Carers (West Cumbria Carers) and Young Cumbria, and The Mayor of Allerdale’s charities; Allerdale Disability Association and WE WILL.
