Police are investigating a burglary in the Gatebeck area, near Kendal.

It occurred between 6.30pm and 10.30pm on Saturday (February 8).

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Jewellery was stolen, including gold rings with sapphire and emerald insets, gold necklaces, silver necklaces, earrings, amber jewellery and pearls.

“Army medals were also taken.”

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward, including if they saw anything suspicious in the area at the time.

Call Detective Constable 1398 Chris Appleyard with information on 101 – or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police are also investigating a burglary on Sedbergh Drive, Kendal.

It occurred between February 1 and Sunday (February 9).

Officers are appealing for information and are asking if anyone saw anything suspicious during this time.

Call officers on 101, referring to incident 272 of February 9.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
