Asking Alston their views on policing

Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall is holding a weekend public surgery at Alston market on Saturday 7 March 11-1pm and would like to invite local people to come and have their say about policing in Cumbria.

“It is important that people in Alston and neighbouring villages have the opportunity to express their opinions about policing matters, crime in their local area and talk about how anti-social behaviour in their community has impacted upon them and their family’s lives.

“Holding my weekend surgery at Alston market provides a chance for local people to explain, discuss and highlight issues that are important to them and also to explore ways that they can help avoid crime and make a positive contribution to keeping our communities safe.

“I hope people will take this opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions, which will help me to make better decisions and understand the needs of local people.

“Holding surgeries such as these is just one of the ways that I engage with members of the public, and I urge people to come along for a chat. I really enjoy getting out in the community and hearing for myself what issues local people have and how policing can help.”

No are appointment necessary.
