Plumpton pensioner admits child abuse image offences

A Plumpton man has appeared in court charged with three offences of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photo of a child, and one offence of showing an indecent photograph/pseudo photo of a child.

Robert James Hawkins, 79, appeared at North and West Cumbria Magistrates Court  in Carlisle today (TUES).

The offences are from November 20, 2004 to August 7, 2018 the classification of the indecent images are a total of 159 in category A, 168 in category B and 493 in category C, the charge of showing an indecent image is category C, category A is the most serious images.

The Magistrates were told that police officers executed a search warrant at premises in the village of Armthwaite where the indecent photographs were discovered.

Hawkins gave his address to the court as Greenacres Park, Plumpton, Penrith, he pleaded guilty to all charges.

Magistrates sent Hawkins to Carlisle Crown Court where he will sentenced on April 1, he also has to sign the Sexual Offences Register,  he was granted unconditional bail.
