Three fire engines were called to a fire involving a kitchen in a first floor flat, at Cumberland Court, Carlisle.
Fire crews were called at 6:53pm yesterday, Thursday 19 March.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Fire fighters used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire, and one casualty was treated by ambulance paramedics for smoke inhalation.
“Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.”
