Kendal Town Council Planning Committee meetings are set to continue via teleconferencing. As a statutory consultee, we want to continue to contribute to the planning decision making process.

Meetings will be held as usual on the first and third Mondays of the month usually starting at 6.30pm. Agendas will continue to be published on our website at https://www.kendaltowncouncil.gov.uk/kendal-town-council/agendas-minutes/. The next meeting is on Monday 6th April at 6.30pm.

As before, any individual is able to submit comments on any planning application to the principle planning authority, SLDC.

Our meetings continue to be open to public participation. This will be achieved either through joining in with the teleconference Committee meeting or via prior correspondence. Both can be arranged direct with the Chair, Cllr Doug Rathbone by contacting him at [email protected] or on 07505503965.

Chair of Planning Committee, Councillor Doug Rathbone, said: “As Chair, I am keen that members of the public should still have the right of public representation and to be heard by the Committee and by the planning authority, given that the planning process is still continuing whether we are there in person or not.”

All other Committee and Council meetings have been suspended, while we explore the legality and feasibility of IT solutions.

With the closure of the Town Hall, our main office in the foyer is closed but we remain contactable by email at [email protected] or telephone on 01539 793490 leaving a message during our opening hours of 9.30am-12.30pm Monday to Friday.
