This Saturday the whole community is invited to connect with each other at a free disco thanks to a collaboration between Windermere based Events and PR business Flock and local community based radio station Lake District Radio.

They have created the free event to keep spirits up during lockdown. The ‘Doorstep Disco’ will take place this Saturday at 7pm with upbeat songs to get people moving, not only will people be able to tune in and listen to the radio show but also join the party online and see others by using video conferencing platform Zoom and streamed live on Facebook. Event organisers Flock explained why they did it and how it will work;

“Like so many others our business has been dramatically affected so we are finding new ways of connecting people and having a little fun, which we think is especially important in these unusual times. We are blessed with a wonderful local community and as we have technology and a brilliant radio station creating an online event seemed like the right thing to do.

“Lake District Radio have been incredible at supporting the local community, staying on air and allowing businesses free 30 second ads too and we were delighted they wanted to collaborate with us to bring something a little different to people’s living rooms. People will be able to submit songs and tune into the radio show to listen whilst being able to visually join the party on Zoom too, it’s going to be great fun.”

People should visit https://www.trybooking.co.uk/RGE to join in the entertainment. Here people will be sent the full details of how to tune into Lake District Radio to hear the songs and Flock’s Zoom account to be part of the visual party in your living room. There’s a prize for the best disco outfit too.
